Getting started
What does working with Abstract Digital look like?
Every engagement starts with an Operations Audit, where we map how your business actually runs and rank the bottlenecks worth fixing. From there you either move into a Systems Build with us or take the plan and execute it yourself. You work directly with Perry the whole way through, with no account managers in between.
How do I know if my business is ready for this?
If too much of your operation lives in your head, your tools do not talk to each other, or your team is growing faster than your systems, you are ready. You do not need a technical background or a finished plan. The Audit is built to bring the clarity, so readiness is mostly about willingness to change how things run.
What is the first step?
The first step is an Operations Audit, a fixed-fee diagnostic that maps your workflow and produces a scoped, prioritized build plan. You can book it from the contact page, and we begin with a short intake so we arrive with context rather than a blank page.
Do I need to know anything about AI or software to work with you?
No. Our job is to understand your business, then handle the technical decisions for you. We explain everything in plain terms and never expect you to know what should be automated or how. That is exactly what you are hiring us for.
Services and process
What is the difference between the Operations Audit and the Systems Build?
The Audit is the diagnosis and the Build is the treatment. The Operations Audit maps your workflow, ranks the problems, and produces a scoped plan. The Systems Build is the implementation of that plan, the working systems your team uses every day. Most clients do the Audit first because it defines exactly what the Build should be.
What happens after the build is done?
You receive the working system, full documentation, and training, so your team can run it without us. If you want it maintained and improved over time, Systems Care is available as a monthly subscription. The build is a complete deliverable on its own, so whether you add Care is up to you.
How long does a project take?
Most initial builds run four to eight weeks, depending on complexity. We scope tightly up front so there are no surprises mid-project. You will have a clear timeline and defined deliverables before any work begins.
Will I be dependent on you after the engagement ends?
No, and that is by design. Every system is documented and handed off, and you own all of it: the code, the accounts, and the access. You can maintain it yourself, hand it to another developer, or keep us on through Systems Care. The choice is always yours.
Investment
How much does this cost?
Cost depends on the scope of the work, which is why we scope before we price rather than quoting a vague starting number. The Operations Audit is a fixed fee set against your specific situation. Builds are priced from the plan the Audit produces, so you approve the number before anything starts.
What is the minimum commitment?
For project work, the minimum is a single Operations Audit, which is a complete deliverable on its own. Systems Care and the Systems Partnership are ongoing engagements, with terms scoped to your situation and agreed up front. You only ever take on the step you have agreed to.
Do you offer fixed-price engagements or hourly billing?
Fixed price, always. Once the scope is confirmed, the price is fixed and does not move. We do not bill hourly and we do not run open-ended meters, so there are no surprise line items on the final invoice.
Fit and geography
Do you work with businesses outside Vancouver and the Okanagan?
Yes. We are based in Vancouver and the Okanagan and work with clients across Canada remotely. Most of the work happens over calls and shared tools, so location rarely matters. Local clients are welcome to meet in person when it helps.
What industries do you work with?
We work most often with trades and construction, commercial services, and finance businesses. The common thread is owner-operated, process-heavy work that should not still be manual. The specific systems differ by industry, but the approach is the same.
Is my business too small to work with you?
Almost certainly not. Owner-operated businesses are exactly who we build for, and smaller operations often see the fastest impact because a single system can remove hours of manual work. If we genuinely are not the right fit, we will tell you honestly rather than sell you an engagement.
